Team Costume Contest!
Costume Contest Fundraiser Challenge
Get ready to run, walk, and show off your creativity! Our Costume Contest Fundraiser Challenge is a fun way for teams to raise money, boost team spirit, and make the 5K even more memorable, all while supporting Ann's Place.
How It Works
Teams should be a minimum of four people for the contest.
Teams that raise a minimum of $1,000 are eligible to be enter. Sponsorship teams are excluded, only teams that individually fundraise.
Costumes should be fun, family-friendly, and safe for walking/running.
How to Enter
Have your team captain registered for the race. Have other member register and join a team fundraiser when they register.
Create or join a fundraising team. By clicking on Team Fundraiser, then clicking the toggle under “Create a Team Fundraiser.”
Complete your registration.
Once your team has hit its $1,000 threshold, reach out to Andrew at Ann’s Place (andrew@annsplace.org or 203-790-6568 ext 131). To officially let them you your team wants to be part of contest!
Wear your costume on race day!
Check in at the registration table, your team captain should be the only one that tells them about the costume contest that their team is there, but all races must check in.
Judging/ Prize
The team with the best overall costumes will receive a trophy, social media recognition on Ann’s Place’s pages, recognition on Ann’s Place’s Race page, and tickets for each registered member to the Festival of Trees in November.
Winner will be based the best overall costumes that may consist of originality, theme, team spirit, enthusiasm, and creativity. (It’s really about having fun and raising money for Ann’s Place… and bragging rights of course!).
Announcement and team picture will happen at the end of the race during the BBQ.
Costume Guidelines
For everyone’s safety and enjoyment:
Costumes must allow participants to safely walk or run.
No masks or props that obstruct vision.
No handheld props, fakes weapons, etc.
No offensive or inappropriate costumes. Ann’s Place and Amber Room’s leadership reserve the right to ask you to remove your costume for any reason.
Keep costumes lightweight and weather-appropriate.
Strollers may also dress up if applicable!
