Speaker Series

Throughout the year, Ann’s Place will bring in experts on various topics of interest. Many of them are open to the public. All registered clients will receive notices of these workshops. If you are not a client, but would like to be notified of speaker events, please email clientservices@annsplace.org.

NOTE: The views expressed by our guest speakers are not always shared by Ann’s Place. We try and give different and varied perspectives on topics of interest to people facing cancer. Please speak to your doctor before starting anything that will effect your health.

The Healing Power of the Breath - 2022

In the face of cancer and other life challenges there is a healing resource we often overlook—the breath. In this experiential Zoom class, instructor Cecilia Beach offers practices to help you harness the power of the breath and the body to find greater energy, focus, calm, balance, wellbeing, and even joy. Breath-Body-Mind techniques are derived from many sources, including yoga, Qigong, coherent breathing, meditation, and the martial arts. Breath-Body-Mind practices have improved the lives of people facing cancer, at-risk children, veterans, health care workers, active-duty military, and survivors of disasters—including the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, Haiti earthquake, genocide in Rwanda, and Rohingya refugee children in Bangladesh.
