Cannabis for Comfort: Understanding Cannabis in Cancer Care
Date: Tuesday May 12, 2026
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Place: in-person at Ann’s Place and Virtual through Zoom
Facilitator: Uzma Zakir, RPh
A cancer diagnosis can bring not only physical symptoms, but waves of fear, uncertainty, and overwhelm for both patients and their loved ones. In this introductory session, pharmacist Uzma will explore how cannabinoids may help support relief from common cancer-related symptoms such as pain, nausea, insomnia, anxiety, loss of appetite, inflammation, and neuropathy. The conversation will also gently address the emotional landscape of cancer—including fear, panic, and acceptance—while offering clear, practical guidance for those curious about how cannabis may support comfort and quality of life during treatment and beyond.
Uzma Zakir, RPh is a licensed pharmacist and the founder of BloomHigher, a wellness practice that integrates modern pharmacology, plant medicine, and contemplative healing traditions to support the nervous system during times of illness, stress, and life transition.
