The approach will be welcoming, gentle, and personalized for each individual’s needs. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support, if needed. The exercises are adaptations of traditional yoga poses which, in this case, are designed to gently and safely promote circulation, respiration, muscle tone, joint mobility, energy levels and healthy organ function.  The combination of breath and movement calms the nervous system, so you will feel relaxed and present, better able to ride the tides of the physical, mental, and emotional demands that come with cancer treatment.

Our Memoir Writing Group

  • In person at Ann's Place & Virtual through Zoom (map)

Why do we write memoirs? To recall and preserve memories, to pass forward a personal message, or family history, or a story about an experience or achievement. To remember who loved us and who we loved in return. As a memoirist, or aspiring memoirist, first and foremost our job is to remember, to write or offer an oral memory. We needn’t be our own editors or critics. It’s not about structure, grammar, spelling, or cleverness. It’s about reflecting, receiving, resounding, and simply enjoying. Come and listen and participate when ready.

Why do we write memoirs? To recall and preserve memories, to pass forward a personal message, or family history, or a story about an experience or achievement. To remember who loved us and who we loved in return. As a memoirist, or aspiring memoirist, first and foremost our job is to remember, to write or offer an oral memory. We needn’t be our own editors or critics. It’s not about structure, grammar, spelling, or cleverness. It’s about reflecting, receiving, resounding, and simply enjoying. Come and listen and participate when ready.
